The Eagles may not be a good team for a while, as we've been trying to warn you since about midway through the 2015 season. It would appear that oddsmakers agree. According to footballlocks.com, the Eagles are tied for the third-worst odds in the NFL win Super Bowl 51.
Team | Odds | Team | Odds |
Panthers | 10-1 | Jets | 40-1 |
Patriots | 10-1 | Falcons | 50-1 |
Steelers | 10-1 | Bears | 50-1 |
Seahawks | 10-1 | Lions | 50-1 |
Packers | 12-1 | Saints | 50-1 |
Cardinals | 15-1 | Redskins | 50-1 |
Bengals | 18-1 | Jaguars | 60-1 |
Cowboys | 20-1 | Rams | 60-1 |
Broncos | 20-1 | Dolphins | 60-1 |
Colts | 25-1 | Raiders | 60-1 |
Chiefs | 25-1 | Chargers | 60-1 |
Vikings | 25-1 | Buccaneers | 60-1 |
Ravens | 40-1 | Titans | 60-1 |
Bills | 40-1 | Eagles | 60-1 |
Texans | 40-1 | 49ers | 75-1 |
Giants | 40-1 | Browns | 200-1 |
That puts them in the company of teams like the Titans, Buccaneers, Chargers, Raiders, Dolphins, Rams, and Jaguars. The only two teams below the Eagles are the always-awful Browns, and a 49ers team coached by the guy who helped put the Eagles where they are now.
On a side note, I do love that oddmakers recognize Cowboys fan delusion, as Dallas is tied for the eighth best odds in the NFL.
