Eagles' Super Bowl odds soar after Bradford's strong showing

Tired of people telling you to calm down about how well the Eagles have played because "it's only the preseason?"

Well, now you can tell them that you have Vegas on your side.

According to VegasInsider.com, the Eagles' odds of winning the Super Bowl have doubled since the start of the NFL preseason and now sit at 10/1, the fourth-best odds in the NFL. The three teams ahead of them are the Seahawks (7/1), the Packers (15/2) and the Colts (9/1).

In early July, Bovada had the Eagles at 20/1 (7th in the NFL) to win Super Bowl 50, which will be held in Santa Clara on February 7, 2016. But after a 3-0 start to the preseason in which they've outscored opponents by 52 points -- not to mention ranking first in points and total yards -- they've moved ahead of the Broncos, Patriots and ... Cowboys.

Here's a look at the Top 10 most likely teams to win the Super Bowl, according to Vegas Insiders:

  1. Seattle Seahawks - 7/1
  2. Green Bay Packers - 15/2
  3. Indianapolis Colts - 9/1
  4. Philadelphia Eagles - 10/1
  5. New England Patriots - 11/1
  6. Denver Broncos - 14/1
  7. Dallas Cowboys - 17/1
  8. Baltimore Ravens - 20/1
  9. Pittsburgh Steelers - 25/1
  10. Miami Dolphins - 28/1

And if you're wondering where the rest of the NFC East is, you'll have to look a bit further down the list. The Giants rank 21st with 65/1 odds while Washington is 30th, ahead of only the Raiders and Jaguars at 125/1.

As for the Eagles' odds just to make it to Super Bowl? They're currently at 9/2 to win the NFC title, behind just the Seahawks and Packers.

And if you still think it's too early to book a hotel in the Bay Area, the two teams who faced off in this past Super Bowl, the Patriots and the Seahawks, were both given preseason odds last summer that are similar to the Eagles' current odds. The New England was 8/1 heading into the 2014 season, while the Seahawks were 6/1.

It's okay, Eagles fans, you're allowed to start getting excited about the season and what this team, at least to this point, looks capable of doing.
