Eagles sign guard/center Stefen Wisniewski to three-year deal

Stefen Wisniewski, like the rest of the Philly fan base, prays that the Eagles won't have to start Chance Warmack or Isaac Seumalo.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have signed one of their own, versatile center/guard Stefen Wisniewski, to a three-year deal. Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports has the money details:

Before his arrival in Philadelphia, Wisniewski started 77 games with the Raiders and Jaguars, never once entering a game as a reserve. With the Eagles last season, Wisniewski was a backup for the first time in his career, although he started six games because of injuries/suspensions.

After Wisniewski signed a one-year deal with the team a year ago, he was honest about his intentions.

"I wasn't getting the kind of money I was looking for in a long-term deal, so I kind of wanted to sign a one-year deal and get back to being a free agent again," he said back in April of 2016.

With Brandon Brooks locked in at RG, Allen Barbre having played reasonably well at LG, Isaac Seumalo looking like a potential starter going forward, Chance Warmack just signing a one-year deal, and Jason Kelce still in the mix, Wisniewski's signing comes as something of a surprise.

Back in January, PhillyVoice reported that the Eagles were considering moving on from Kelce. Stay tuned.
