The Philadelphia Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for starting LT Jordan Mailata to return from injured reserve, the team announced on Monday.
Mailata injured his hamstring Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns and missed a requisite four games while on IR. He is eligible to play Week 11 against the Washington Commanders.
Backup swing tackle Fred Johnson played admirably in place of Mailata over the last four games, all wins against the Giants, Bengals, Jaguars, and Cowboys. He will return to the bench when Mailata is ready to return to the lineup.
The Eagles entered their Week 10 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys with a clean injury report, as they had no players with injury designations. The only notable players on IR were Mailata and WR/PR Britain Covey. Barring any surprise serious injuries to emerge from the Eagles' win in Dallas, the Birds will be about as healthy as an NFL team can be at this point in the season, especially if Mailata is given the green light to return to his spot at LT.
