Social media has truly made celebrities, athletes and other high-profile individuals more accessible to fans.
Take, for example, a recent interaction between Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho and a fan who requested to take him to prom. Eagles fan Hannah Delmonte reached out to Acho via social media and was able to land a date to prom with the football star, according to CBS Philly.
Delmonte approached Acho with a direct message on Instagram, according to Sports Illustrated, and asked if he would take her to prom if she received 2,000 Twitter retweets.
Acho responded, acknowledging the deal, but raised the going price to 10,000 retweets.
He told Delmonte that she had a week to get the retweets, as he would be away in Hong Kong.
According to CBS Philly, her tweet received over 12,000 retweets and 1,000 favorites in a matter of hours.
Perhaps Acho believed the challenge would be more difficult to achieve.
However, he appears to be a man of his word, tweeting the following on Thursday night:
