Tim Tebow has put this football down for good. He now thinks he can play professional baseball ... despite having not played baseball since 2005. High school baseball. This will end well, surely.

When the Eagles originally signed Tim Tebow, he was widely viewed as little more than a camp arm, but his momentum of potentially cracking the 53-man roster grew as training camp and the preseason dragged along. In what eventually became somewhat of a surprise move, the Eagles cut Tebow, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Tebow finished his preseason strongly against the Jets, completing 11 of 17 passes for 189 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT. After the Eagles traded Matt Barkley to the Cardinals, it seemed that Tebow's job status with the Eagles was more secure.

In 2014, 15 teams went into the season with just two quarterbacks. The Eagles could go that route with their 53-man roster, and just add one for their practice squad, Chip Kelly told reporters. "We’re not done," said Chip Kelly. "So, there could be a third quarterback. We’ll look and see what happens with the waiver wire. Whether we add a quarterback to the active roster or to the practice squad, we will have a third quarterback... If we add him to the active [roster], then there won’t be a practice squad [quarterback]; if we add him to the practice squad, then we will add another active player. But we are not going to have four quarterbacks."
