Brandon Graham was scheduled to meet with the media today at 1:20pm, but Chip Kelly appeared like some WWE wrestler making a surprise appearance instead.
Obviously, Kelly was asked about the Eagles potentially moving up for Marcus Mariota.
"Let's dispel that right now," said Kelly. "I think that stuff is crazy. You guys have been going with that stuff all along. I think Marcus is the best quarterback in the draft. We will never mortgage our future to go all the way up to get someone like that because we have too many other holes that we're going to take care of."
Kelly later added that the Eagles haven't looked into what it would take to move up to draft Marcus Mariota.
So in other words, if I have this straight:
• According to Chip, Marcus Mariota is the best quarterback in the draft.
• The Eagles clearly didn't see a future with Nick Foles, as evidenced by the fact that the Eagles traded him along with a 2nd round pick and a 4th round pick for a QB coming off two ACL tears.
• The Eagles never once picked up the phone to see what the cost might be to move up for Marcus Mariota. Not even for the sake of curiosity.
So yeah, let's just dispel that right now.
