The ESPYs have been around since 1993, and most years there hasn't been much of a reason to watch them if you are a Philadelphia sports fan interested in seeing the local teams be honored nationally. When the 2018 ESPYs air on July 18th, the Eagles, as well as other local athletes and teams, will be well-represented.

• Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles, Super Bowl LII
• Donte DiVincenzo, Villanova, NCAA basketball tournament
• George Springer, Houston Astros, World Series
• Kevin Durant, Golden State Warriors, NBA Finals
• Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers
• Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints
• Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz
• Sloane Stephens, Tennis
• Eagles fourth down TD pass in Super Bowl (Philly Special)
• Arike Ogunbowale's buzzer beater for Notre Dame
• Jessie Warren's double play for Florida State
• Blake Peters' 80-foot buzzer beater
Julie Ertz, a soccer player and the wife of Eagles tight end Zach Ertz, is also nominated for "Best Female Athlete."
