A 24-year-old Drexel University student was
arrested Wednesday on charges of 50 counts of child pornography possession as
well as distribution and criminal use of a communication facility, according to Drexel’s school
newspaper, The
Triangle.
The student, Hunter W. Gayden, is a mechanical engineering major at the university and a member of the Formula SAE racing team on campus.
The
arrest was part of an ongoing large-scale investigation of suspected child
predators by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office, which, as of Wednesday, has resulted in 21 arrests in Bucks, Delaware,
Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, 6ABC.com
reported.
In Pennsylvania, distribution of child pornography carries a minimum sentence of five years.
