The sun will come out tomorrow. We've just had to bear through a miserable Friday first.
While the area cooled off significantly Friday after temperatures reached the high-90s in Philadephia on Thursday, humidity, clouds and a chance of thunderstorms will prevail here throughout the rest of the evening. Some storms could bring heavy rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Those who decided to start their weekend getaway at the shore early on Friday were in for a rude awakening. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of South Jersey in the afternoon as storms, some powerful, swept east.
Forecasters predict showers and thunderstorms will be likely in Atlantic City before 2 a.m. Saturday. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain.
But fear not, folks.
The weekend is shaping up to be sunny and dry, with temperatures hitting in the mid to high 80s and lows around 70 Saturday and Sunday. As usual, expect temperatures to be about five to 10 degrees lower at the shore and in the Poconos.
A slight chance of showers hangs over the Jersey Shore Saturday morning, but any rain should clear out by 11 a.m., forecasters say.
