The network provided the following statement to Sports Illustrated confirming the suspension.
"Donovan McNabb has been suspended indefinitely. It is important that Donovan use this time as best he can to resolve his personal situation."
McNabb, 38, was arrested for his second DUI late at night on June 28 following a non-injury rear-end collision in Gilbert, Arizona. A subsequent investigation revealed that McNabb was impaired by alcohol when he rammed into a vehicle at a stop light. He was cited and released at the time.
In April 2014, McNabb spent one day in jail for another DUI conviction in December of 2013. In Arizona, a second DUI conviction carries a minimum sentence of 90 days in jail.
Following his most recent arrest, McNabb, who also works as a radio analyst with NBC Sports, issued the following statement via ProFootballTalk.
“There was a story that was released, and I want everybody to be cognizant of it, because I am very aware of it, handling the matter at this particular point. But at this point, I have no further information, and as we continue on with the situation, then we’ll let it handle as it will handle itself.”
