Dense fog alert in effect for Philadelphia region

An alert has been issued for the Philadelphia region warning drivers of dense fog Sunday morning.

The National Weather Service has put the alert in effect until 10 a.m. Visibility is expected to be around a quarter mile and at times even less for motorists. 

The alert includes Philadelphia County, the surrounding Pennsylvania suburbs and extends north to Allentown and Reading.

Drivers are urged to use caution, employ headlights and keep plenty of distance between cars in front of them while the advisory is in place.
