Two dozen Springfield parks have been declared smoke-free at the urging of mothers who bring their children to the parks.
The township Board of Commissioners passed a resolution earlier this month, according to the
Delaware County Daily Times. No smoking signs will be posted throughout the parks and township officials have been granted authority to evict any violators.
The resolution states the commissioners wanted to "help role model nonsmoking behavior to children and youth, and provide a safe, smoke-free environment.”
