Create a 'political party cup' for when you need a drink this campaign season

The Clay Studio is hosting a workshop on July 21 in conjunction with its new studio exhibit, "Still Divided: Political Cups," by Hope Rovelto.

Rovelto is lending her handmade cups (ceramic versions of plastic, ribbed water cups) to the arts & crafts session. The cups featured in the exhibit use decals featuring United States politics, presidents and presidential hopefuls to make a comment on the election season.

Since red plastic cups often stand as a symbol for "let's party," Rovelto used them to play on the idea of a political party.

Those who attend the workshop will be able to place their own decals on the cups, creating their own "political party cup." Use it to cheers when your No. 1 candidate makes it into office or to chug from when your worst-case scenario happens.

Dock Street Brewery will provide beers for attendees while they craft.

The workshop begins at 6:30 p.m., and all materials will be provided by The Clay Studio. The cups, which need to be fired, will be available for pickup two-to-four weeks after the event.
