Numerous rapid coronavirus testing sites are now open in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The City of Philadelphia recommends testing for those who have coronavirus symptoms and can be categorized as one or more of the following: persons over age 50, healthcare workers, those with medical conditions that could increase the risk of infection, or people who live in a facility with other people, like a nursing home, college dormitory, prison or shelter.

The actual testing process is simple. A sample is taken from a patient's nasal cavity by inserting a swab into their nose. The sample is then sent to a lab for processing, which typically takes a matter of days.
At most sites, a direct referral from a health care provider and an appointment are required before you can get a test. Most of the sites are also drive-through testing sites, where a car is required to go through testing, but some offer testing to pedestrians.
Testing at Philadelphia sites is free, according to Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley in a daily coronavirus briefing.
The list below shows includes most of the testing sites now open Pennsylvania and New Jersey, organized by county. The site list is fluctuating almost daily, based on the availability of tests, testing staff, and changing requirements for testing at these sites. Some sites have also been closing early when they run out of tests for that day. Most locations require an appointment, even if it is not listed. If an address is not listed, it will be provided after making an appointment.
