Police are searching for a man who they say fled after an attempted traffic stop on Wednesday night, leaving behind a car with a three-year-old child and a gun inside.
According to 6 ABC, police pulled over a Chevy Impala at around 7:00 p.m. on Market Street. The driver of the car reportedly then sped off, leading officers on a chase into Upper Darby.
The car was then found parked and the driver fled on foot toward a golf course. Police found an unharmed three-year-old boy and a loaded handgun inside the vehicle.
The owner of the vehicle is thought to be the boy's mother, who police believe is the suspect's girlfriend. She was brought in for questioning by investigators but police said she has not been cooperative.
The suspect remains at large.
