The sentencing for convicted Philadelphia child rapist Christina Regusters was postponed Friday, a spokesperson from the District Attorney's Office confirmed.
Regusters will be sentenced Oct. 5 in Philadelphia Municipal Courtroom 1101.
The sentencing was postponed because a pre-sentence investigation report was not complete, said Cameron Kline, communications director for the DA's Office.
Regusters, a 21-year-old former day care worker, was convicted in September of abducting a
5-year-old girl from Bryant Elementary School in the Cobbs Creek section of
Philadelphia. Prosecutors said that in January 2013, Regusters posed as the girl's mother to sign her out of school and then “sexually assaulted her with
a sharp object in a nearby home” before leaving her in an Upper Darby park.
The child, wearing only a T-shirt, was found in the park by a passerby.
Regusters faces life in prison.
