A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Sunday for the coastal areas in South Jersey and Southern Delaware after snow began falling in the region.
According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulation could range between 1-3 inches in Sussex County in Delaware as well as areas near the shores of Cumberland, Cape May and Atlantic counties.
Drivers are urged to use caution as visibility is expected to drop to as low as one mile. Also, roadways will become wet and could freeze overnight, causing potentially hazardous conditions.
Several South Jersey residents posted photos and videos of the snowfall on social media Sunday afternoon:
Additionally, some counties have issued alerts to caution residents about the cold weather coming this week as temperatures are expected to drop into the teens across the Delaware Valley.
