Colorful clothing.

On Nov. 2, the first Philly Swish will take place at the Theatre of the Living Arts (TLA). The event is a large-scale clothing swap, where Philadelphians can get rid of clothing they no longer wear and pick out new, gently-used outfits.

To participate, gather up a maximum of 10 unloved items from your closet. It can be clothing, shoes or accessories. Anything but underwear, bathing suits and socks is allowed. Also, check to make sure each item is in good condition. That means no rips, stains, missing buttons or broken clasps.

Item drop-off begins at 6 p.m. For each item, participants receive a token. Once shopping opens at 7 p.m., attendees will use the tokens to "buy" new items.

The organizers ask that clothing is brought on hangers, to make the shopping experience easier. Everything will be sorted into categories in the TLA, before the doors open for browsing. There will also be closed-off changing areas for trying on finds.

All leftover items will be donated to Philly AIDS Thrift and Career Wardrobe Philadelphia
