The Democratic party has agreed to sanction four additional debates between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, including one in Pennsylvania and one in Flint, Michigan.
As the Washington Post reported, the debates will take place in the battleground state of New Hampshire this week, followed by Flint, Michigan in March, Pennsylvania in April, and California in May.
Those states are holding primaries on February 9, March 8, April 26 and June 7, respectively. Exact details, like which city in Pennsylvania will host the debate, have not yet been released.
The first debate is Thursday night at 9 p.m. in New Hampshire. MSNBC will stream the event live on its website.
Sanders and Clinton agreed to the increased debate schedule the day before the Iowa Caucus, reported Buzzfeed.
However, they squabbled over exactly where the debates would take place. Sanders, for example, wanted a debate held in his birthplace of Brooklyn, New York.
"Why won’t they debate in Brooklyn? What’s the matter with Brooklyn?” campaign manager Jeff Weaver asked in a statement.
The Clinton campaign agreed to one debate per month, with none of the debates happening on weekends or holidays. They also suggested holding one of the debates in Flint; Hillary Clinton made a point to bring up the lead poisoning crisis in that city in the last debate.
