New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s luxury travel expenses were leaked to The News York Times, and they include hotel expenses that cost about $30,000 and trips on private planes paid for by donors, foreign officials and even casino mogul Sheldon Adelson.
The local press corp in New Jersey has tried to get information on Christie’s travel expenses for years. His office has habitually denied those requests.
A spokesperson for Christie’s office did not dispute details from the story, according to the Times. The report also questioned the influence of the donors who gave him the money.
Christie is currently in London on a mission his office said is meant to improve the state's economy and trade. According to the Bergen Record, Christie is defending the trip which is being funded by Choose New Jersey, a non-profit funded by public utilities and law firms.
