What was originally slated as a press conference Tuesday by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been changed to a "press announcement" with no questions to be taken afterward, according to a report from Politico.
Christie hasn’t held a press conference since the start of the trial over the George Washington Bridge lane closures and the presidential election of Donald J. Trump.
While he's been stripped of the task to lead Trump's transition into the White House in the days since the election, causing speculation that he's fallen out of favor with Trump, a spot in the White House administration isn't off the table, and it could be the focus of this announcement.
Talking last week on an hourlong radio show on New Jersey 101.5, Christie said he doesn’t plan to accept a job in Trump's administration, noting instead that he's planning on "serving the rest of my term,” but he then added, “You don't ever look at the president, at least I don't, look at a president of the United States and say to them, 'Under no circumstances will I consider anything you ask me to do.'”
The press announcement in the state house rotunda is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
