Christian Pulisic, a Hershey, Pennsylvania native and the United States’ next great hope at any sort of soccer relevance, is now the most expensive U.S. soccer player ever.

Pulisic, 20, is heading to Chelsea F.C. in the English Premier League after Chelsea agreed to a 64 million euro — or nearly $73 million — transfer fee with Borussia Dortmund of the German Bundesliga. Pulisic will finish the season with Dortmund before moving on to Chelsea.

Chelsea officially announced the move Wednesday.

The 5-foot-8 wunderkind, known for his creativity and speed amongst defenders, signed to Dortmund’s U17 squad back in 2015, when he was 16 years old.

But it became apparent in November that Pulisic wanted to move to England when he decided not to sign a contract extension with Dortmund.

Pulisic has scored 15 goals in 115 career appearances with Dortmund. He’s appeared in 23 games for the U.S. Men’s National Team and scored nine goals, including two braces.

In 2016, Pulisic became the youngest player ever to score a goal in a World Cup qualifier. Last November, Pulisic became the youngest player to captain the United States national team at 20 years and 63 days old.
