The superintendent of the Cherry Hill School District will step down this summer to take a job leading Haverford Township's schools.
Maureen Reusche's departure was announced on the district's website last week. She became Cherry Hill's leading school administrator in 2011. A search for a new superintendent will take place "immediately," officials said.
“Under Dr. Reusche’s leadership, our district became home to some of the most talented, experienced and caring administrative leaders in the state, both at the building level and in central administration,” the district’s post said. “We are confident that the district will continue to move forward … during the transition process to a new superintendent.”
A total of 37 candidates had been interviewed for the Haverford Township superintendent position, according to a letter announcing the pick of Reusche on their website.
“We are confident that she has the skills and experience and proven record of success necessary to lead the School District of Haverford Township forward,” said the notice.
Reusche will officially leave Cherry Hill at the end of June.
