Cherry Hill police help motorist stranded in snow, learn car is stolen

Woman arrested after police come to help her

Police in Cherry Hill say they went to assist a woman stranded in Winter Storm Jonas, only to discover the car she was driving was stolen.

According to authorities, officers responded to a disabled vehicle near the intersection of Route 70 and Brace Road on Saturday around 8 p.m.

There they found a 2007 Lexus stuck in a large pile of snow. It's driver, 20-year-old Tamera Flynn, refused to accept police assistance.

Officers say they noticed the rear license plate wasn't properly mounted on the car, and that a second plate was placed in an effort to cover the first tag.

Upon checking both registrations, police discovered that the car had been stolen from Winslow Township.

Flynn was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. She was released on a summons pending a Feb. 2 court date.
