In honor of their new exhibit, "Audubon to Warhol: The Art of American Still Life," the Philadelphia Museum of Art will host a quirky night of activities Wednesday, Nov. 18. As Wednesday nights are pay-what-you-wish at PMA, the program is sure to bring in a fun crowd.
From 5:30-8 p.m., Shane Confectionary and Franklin Fountain will be creating yummy still life displays with the help of photographer and food stylist Jason Varney. They'll create mouth-watering images with ice cream molds and sweets while the audience watches before indulging themselves.
Also from 5:30-8 p.m., fantastical still life displays featuring floral designer Sullivan Owen's work and taxidermy specimens from The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University will fill the Grand Stair Hall.
Throughout the night, dozens of designs from local college students will be on display in the Grand Stair Hall balcony. They've created works in response to the museum's "Work on What You Love: Bruce Mau Rethinking Design" exhibit. Visitor's will choose a "People's Choice" winner.
