Carson Wentz offers positive message on Eagles after ACL injury

Injured quarterback vows to come back 'stronger than ever'

One day after his devastating ACL tear, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz wants his fans and teammates to know this isn't the end of the world. It's not even the end of this season.

Wentz, the NFL's leading MVP candidate, left Sunday's pivotal matchup in Los Angeles after a gutsy dive into the end zone. Just like that, an incredible 11-2 run came to an end and Nick Foles took over as signal caller for a team that still has serious Super Bowl aspirations.

In a video message posted to Twitter on Monday night, Wentz acknowledged how tough the news hit him personally. At the same time, he pointed to his religious faith and confidence in the character of the 2017-18 Eagles to keep the team's momentum rolling into the playoffs.

As for Wentz himself, he's determined to rehab and return to the field stronger than ever.

"I can promise to everybody, all my fans in the Philly area, in the North Dakota area, all across this country, that this will not stop me going forward," Wentz said. "I will come back stronger than ever. I will use this as motivation. And I will be attacking it, this whole process as I recover."
