In the first three games this season, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and wide receiver Jordan Matthews have hooked up for two touchdowns. After each TD connection, they engaged in a choreographed TD celebration.
First, against the Browns:
And then Sunday against the Steelers:
- MORE EAGLES COVERAGE
- Wentz has best game yet as Eagles dominate Steelers in every way
- 10 awards from Eagles-Steelers
- Good, bad, ugly: Birds 34, Steelers 3
- Mixed reactions from Eagles fans as Jenkins continues anthem protest
“It’s all business, said Wentz," when asked what the dance meant. "We keep it all business. You’ll have to ask him a little bit more. He might give you a little more in-depth review on that.”
Matthews did indeed give more depth.
"So we were thinking about something that represents both of us," said Matthews. "Whenever guys score touchdowns, they always jump into each other, call it getting hyped or whatever. But with us, we want to play with each other for a long time, and we feel like we work hard enough where we should expect get touchdowns, expect great things to happen. So every time I run up to him, we fake like we're about to jump into each other, put the tie on, shake hands, business as usual. No hype, straight business."
Straight business.
Of course, it's a choreographed celebration, which means it's illegal, so it's probably only a matter of time before the NFL ruins this.
