Camden native and "Card Sharks" host Jim Perry has died at the age of 82, NJ.com reports.
The TV game show host passed away after a five-year battle with cancer.
Perry hosted "Card Sharks" and "Sale of the Century," as well as "Definition," a Hangman-style game show on Canadian television that ended in 1989. He was also the longtime host of the Miss Canada pageant, NJ.com reports.
Perry and June, his wife of 56 years, had two children and three grandchildren.
"Today we lost the greatest father, friend and husband anybody could ever wish for," his family said in a statement. "While he provided decades of entertainment to millions of people, his greatest victory was his growth as a human being — rising from a childhood filled with challenges including great poverty to provide an amazing life for his family. The world is a better place for his having been here."
According to Variety, Perry attended the University of Pennsylvania and worked for the Armed Forces Radio during the Korean War.
