A South Jersey man was arrested after he allegedly used his neighbors' internet connection to download and send child pornography, county officials said.
Louis LaSalle, 55, of Camden, was charged with third-degree possession and second-degree distribution of child pornography, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo announced on Monday.
On Sept. 1 at 5:30 a.m., authorities executed a warrant to search a residence on Woodmill Drive in Clementon. However, detectives did not find any criminal activity but discovered that the homeowners' Wi-Fi was unsecured.
Investigators eventually determined that LaSalle was illegally accessing his neighbors' internet to download and distribute child pornography. A total of 33,000 images and 700 videos were seized from a laptop in LaSalle’s home.
LaSalle was sent to Camden County Jail on $150,000 bail.
