A male body was found atop a SEPTA Regional Rail train when it pulled into Jefferson Station during the Friday morning rush.
"We don't really have any other information, as far as his identity," SEPTA spokesman John Golden said. "It is currently being investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department."
Police responded to Jefferson Station at 7:49 a.m. after being informed by SEPTA Police that a body had been discovered when the train pulled into the station earlier that morning. Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Investigators are still trying to determine the man's identity and how his body ended up on top of the train.
The body was burned beyond recognition, according to NBC10. It was found near the rear of the train, where high-voltage power lines connect to an overhead electrical source.
