A Bucks County man has been charged in the fatal stabbing of his father Tuesday night, 6ABC reports.
Eli Goodrich, 26, was arraigned early Wednesday morning on criminal homicide and related charges. He is a 2011 graduate of St. Joseph’s University.
Police say he stabbed his father, 66-year-old Alan Goodrich, with a sword after an argument broke out between the two.
The stabbing occurred in a home on the 500 block of Trappe Lane in Langhorne around 5:30 p.m.
"They saw that there was an elderly gentleman suffering from at least one severe stab wound to the stomach," Middletown Township Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla told 6ABC. "At the time, the gentleman's son was also on location. He was taken into custody."
The victim was transported to St. Mary Medical Center, where he later died.
“You are not going to control my mind anymore,” Goodrich reportedly told his father, according to the Bucks County Courier Times. “I have to kill you.”
Goodrich is being held without bail at the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
