In "Back to the Future Part II," the popular sequel to the 1985 hit film, Michael J. Fox's character Marty McFly hops in Doc Brown's DeLorean and jumps into the future. Despite what the Internet has said in the past, McFly and his flying vehicle actually land on Oct. 21, 2015.
To honor what's being referred to as Back to the Future Day, Bryn Mawr Film Institute will be screening "Back to the Future Part II" on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. A real DeLorean, flux capacitor and all, will be on the premises for photos before the screening. Car experts Robert and Lillian Arana will be displaying their car in the Bryn Mawr Trust parking lot at 6 p.m. They'll lead the audience in trivia and giveaways before the screening commences, too. Costumes are definitely encouraged.
AMC Theatres is also running a Back to the Future Day promotion. Many of their theaters will show the entire trilogy on Oct. 21 with the movies running at 4:29 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. local time. AMC Theatres in Deptford and Marlton, New Jersey, and Springfield, Pennsylvania, are among those participating.
