Broadway's Kristin Chenoweth to sing with Philadelphia Orchestra

Tickets for the January show go on sale Friday

Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth has announced a special one-night performance in Philadelphia this winter. She'll appear with the Philadelphia Orchestra at Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall on Saturday, January 2.

Chenoweth is an Emmy- and Tony-winning actress perhaps best known for originating the role of Glinda the Good Witch in the smash hit Broadway musical "Wicked" alongside Idina Menzel. In addition to her Emmy-nominated role as April Rhodes on "Glee" and her Emmy-winning turn on "Pushing Daisies," Chenoweth also won a Tony Award for her performance as Sally Brown in "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown."

She's currently playing Lily Garland in Broadway's "On the Twentieth Century." Thus far that performance has garnered her nominations for Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Choice Awards. Most recently she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

When the multitalented star takes the stage this winter she'll perform songs from her best-known roles on "Wicked," "Glee" and "On the Twentieth Century." She'll also perform popular standards and Hollywood classics. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, August 14 at noon and can be purchased online or by calling (215) 893-1999.
