Former Eagles and Villanova running back Brian Westbrook was both an excellent and popular player in Philly that had made the transition to analyst the past few years.
And over the past few days on Twitter, Westbrook broke the news that he will no longer be on Eagles Post Game Live next to Michael Barkann, Ray Didinger, and Ed Rendell. The 36-year-old said that the network fired him:
CSN denied that Westbrook was fired in a statement (via Crossing Broad):
“We would like to thank Brian Westbrook for his many on-air contributions to CSN Philadelphia over the last several years, and clarify that he has not been ‘fired’ from the network. We are making changes to our Eagles pre- and postgame shows in order to bring fresh voices and perspectives, but we value our relationship with Brian and offered him another opportunity with the network, which he declined. We wish him the best and hope to work with him again.”
Regardless of how you want to describe the situation, Westbrook won’t be a fixture on CSN before and after Eagles games like he has been since 2013. It sounds like the Delaware Valley’s television experience on fall Sundays is going to change.
