U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., tweeted Wednesday about the potential for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
"When the truth comes out (and it will) & if the president has committed crimes, we (the people) will fight and win in the battle to impeach," Booker tweeted.
The tweet was a response to a New York Magazine article titled, "Trump Can Commit All the High Crimes He Wants. Republicans Aren’t Going to Impeach Him."
In the piece, writer Jonathan Chait argues, "In every incremental advance of the Russia story, many hear the ticking hands of an 'impeachment clock.' But there is no clock, and there will probably be no impeachment, at least not based on the field of Trumpian misdeeds currently at play."
Last month on CNN, Booker remarked that an impeachment would need to be dealt with at a deliberate pace.
"I'm not going to rush to impeachment," he said on "State of the Union." "I think we need to deal with this in a very sobered way."
The tweet, which was sent to his 3.1 million followers, demonstrates a measured difference in his tone since then. Nonetheless, considering Booker gave the president a meaningful Twitter lesson on Vox last month, it seems he knows what he's doing.
