Before I talk about the election, I have to mention something that’s really, really bothering me.
The New York Times, to me, has always been the paper of record. Unlike other papers, I always believed that whatever you read in the New York Times was true. But when I started to read some of the emails that were released by WikiLeaks that showed what I thought were very credible New York Times writers covertly communicating with people from Hillary Clinton’s campaign, I was disgusted.

Assuming the leaks are true – and there are many names named so you would have to assume they are – then the New York Times should be ashamed of itself. How dare the Times – the paper of record – be so clearly one-sided in a political election – especially a presidential election?
It’s the same thing with the website Politico, where a reporter who works there was accused by WikiLeaks of sending a story to Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta to edit before it ran on the site.
As an American, it offends me that these media organizations can be used like this … and believe me, I would feel the same way if it was happening on the Democratic or the Republican side.
You mean to tell me the editors, the publishers and the owners of the New York Times see this kind of thing happening by their writers and there aren’t any consequences? It makes you start to think they were in on the whole thing.
.
Warning a candidate about an upcoming story? Sending stories to be edited? Apologizing for negative stories?
Are you kidding me?
It makes you really question our political system in America right now.
Listen, this has been a dirty, ugly presidential race. And you’re starting to learn a lot of stuff that goes on in the background which makes you ask, how corrupt is this whole process?
Now, on to the election …
The way it stands now with less than two weeks to go, it seems like Hillary Clinton has opened a gap that seems too big to close and that it could be a rout. But there are still a couple of things that I think that could come into play.
I think the Bernie Sanders supporters could still help decide this election. Now they’re not gonna vote for him, but if Donald Trump can convince Sanders’ people that Hillary is the Wall Street princess – and this is the reason they were against her in the first place – maybe they stay home instead of voting for her. And those non-votes are as good as votes for Trump.
Then there’s the news that just came out this week that Obamacare premiums would increase by 25 percent next year. I think that is really gonna have an impact on how a lot of people feel about the election, too.
There are some people who are looking at the Brexit vote, which was at about the same odds of passing in the days leading up to the vote as Donald winning, and see Donald winning in the same manner as Brexit. The thought is that many Trump supporters don’t trust the media so they aren’t talking to the pollsters, and because of that, their numbers aren’t being counted.
Donald Trump has got to realize in the final days, it’s not all about the 10 thousand people screaming “Donald! Donald! Donald!” at his rallies. They’re good for your ego, but there’s a lot of other people that he’s has got to go out and convince that he is the right choice for president.
Listen, I still believe that there were many candidates that could have run against Hillary and beat her because she has so much political and personal baggage – some of which is just now starting to come out. But Donald Trump as so many negatives of his own that he’s never cleared up and now they are coming back to bite him.
I have said before that it’s appalling to me about what the Republican Party has done to Donald Trump, how they have essentially abandoned him. There are still many in the party in these “Anyone But Trump” groups.
But the bottom line is that my friend, Mr. Narcissism, Donald Trump, has done nothing to try and win back their support.
When is he gonna apologize to John McCain? When is he gonna apologize to John Kasich? If I was him, I’d be in Ohio publicly apologizing to Kasich and his family. Go down and see the Bushes … show some humility and compassion.
That is the biggest problem with Donald Trump. He’s never said I’m sorry. To anyone. He has never, ever even shown that he’s the least bit remorseful for anything he’s said.
And that very well could be his downfall.
