A 17-year-old boy was killed on New Year's Day after an accident at Blue Mountain Resort in the Poconos, one of Pennsylvania's most popular skiing destinations.
Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller Jr. confirmed the teen's death in a statement Tuesday afternoon, according to The Morning Call. The boy was identified as Connor Golembiewski, of Flemington, Hunterdon County.

Miller said Golembiewski suffered multiple blunt force injuries after falling off of a chair lift around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The teen was transported to St. Luke's Hospital-Palmerton around 1 p.m. and was later pronounced dead.
The NJ Renegades, a youth hockey team, posted a message about the loss of Golembiewski, who began playing with the club at nine years old.
"He was a loyal, hardworking, respectful player that gave his all every time he came to the rink," the team said in a statment. "We wish our deepest sympathies and condolences to his family during this difficult time."
The incident comes less than a year after a Philadelphia man died following an accident at the resort in Lower Towamensing. The 53-year-old man was struck by another skier last January and died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Every year, about 40 people die in skiing accidents, according to the Colorado-based National Ski Areas Association.
