Philadelphians may be able to shop at Bloomingdale's in the near future, as the retailer announced it is "actively looking" for space in the area.
The news comes via email from
MSC Retail, a Walnut Street real estate firm that works with retailers and other clients, Philadelphia Magazine reported. It suggests Bloomingdale's is seeking between 120,000-square-feet and 150,000-square-feet of retail space in Center City for a “full line” store.
Bloomingdale's was considering The Gallery back in 2013, but when Philly Mag reached out to the company, MSC Retail president and CEO Michael Salove told the magazine "... we are interested in Center City Philadelphia should the appropriate opportunity be sourced."
The retailer is also looking for space for an outlet store in Eastern Pennsylvania, South Jersey and Delaware, the email said.
