Blaze Pizza celebrates University City location opening with giveaway

Hungry? No worries. Blaze Pizza's new University City location is giving away free pies until midnight Friday to celebrate the store's grand opening.

The newest location can be found on Drexel University's campus at 3400 Lancaster. The assembly-style, fast-casual joint will be dishing away any of its 11-inch pizzas saving customers at least $8.

All diners have to do to score a free pie is follow Blaze Pizza on any of its social media platforms, including its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat.

The University City store opened officially on Thursday and is only the third store in the state and second in Philadelphia. There's a Blaze at 11th and Montgomery avenues on Temple University's campus as well as a location in Monroeville that opened in June.

“Philadelphia is a busy city. Blaze Pizza offers a fast, budget-friendly dining option that’s perfect for students on the move,” said Amit Patel, Operating Partner for Blaze in Philadelphia in a news release.

The restaurant hours are 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m., until midnight Friday and Saturday. Blaze opened its first location four years ago in 2012 and has since expanded to more than 150 stores across the country.
