Betty Willis, the woman credited with designing the iconic "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, died over the weekend at the age of 91.
Willis passed away peacefully at her home in Overton, Nevada, on Sunday. Her famous design has greeted countless visitors to the city since 1959.
She is also credited with designing the “Moulin Rouge," “Blue Angel Motel” and many other signs, according to her obituary.

Willis visited The Neon Museum for her 90th birthday in 2013.
The sign was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, NBC News reports. The design does not have a copyright owner.
Funeral services are planned for Friday.
