Ben Folds to tour Philly for three nights this May

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 13

Popular singer-songwriter Ben Folds recently announced both a new album and a world tour. Now he's released news that he'll spend three straight nights performing in Philadelphia this May, all at different venues.

Monday, May 11 he'll play the Theatre of Living Arts, Tuesday, May 12 he'll spend at World Cafe Live, and Wednesday, March 13 he'll stop by the Temple Performing Arts Center. New York-based sextet yMusic will open for Folds. Tickets for all three shows go on sale Friday, March 13 at noon.

The artist's as yet untitled upcoming album features new pop recordings made in collaboration with yMusic. The album will also include a recorded version of "Concerto for Piano and Orchestra," Folds' critically acclaimed, three-movement concerto that he has toured all over the globe. The whole album was recorded in under two weeks.

This album marks Ben Folds' first since 2011. Folds rose to fame in the late 90s fronting alternative rock band Ben Folds Five. If not from his music, you may recognize Folds from TV; he was a celebrity judge on a capella singing competition "The Sing-Off" from 2009 to 2013.
