#BearWatch2016: Bear spotted in Delco state park

The summer of bears continues.

Police in Upper Providence Township in Delaware County said Friday night they've confirmed a recent bear sighting in Ridley Creek State Park in the area just north of Gradyville Road.

There was also a "possible" sighting of a bear on Kingston Road, police said. Which means:


The Pennsylvania Game Commission is working to set traps in the park. Police asked that residents not approach the bear if spotted and to instead call 911.

This isn't the first Delco sighting in the #BearWatch2016 saga. In May, a bear was seen strolling through a residential section of Chadds Ford.

And as with every one of the many bear sightings this year, residents freaked out a bit. The Facebook post from police alerting people about the bear had more than 700 shares and plenty of comments like the one below:
