A barricade situation Tuesday in Ocean County, New Jersey, has left one woman dead and her husband, a suspect, hospitalized.
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, police responded to a report of domestic violence just after 10 a.m., at 120 Evergreen Road in Plumsted. Upon arriving at the scene, they found evidence of a physical altercation.
Officers discovered 48-year-old Susan Haskoor dead in the driveway from multiple stab wounds.
Prosecutors say a note was found on the door saying there were guns in the home and the person inside would kill them.
After interviewing the couple's son, officers confirmed that the husband, 50-year-old Arthur Haskoor, had at least six guns inside.
A SWAT Team, state police, and multiple other law enforcement agencies were called to the home as authorities asked residents to avoid the area.
The FAA temporarily restricted airspace over the area of the residence during the standoff at the request of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
The Asbury Park Press reports that New Egypt High School, which is across the street from the home, evacuated around 30 students and the Plumsted branch of the Ocean County Library was closed after people inside were escorted out.
Arthur was found unresponsive in the garage by a robot sent in with a camera around 2:30 p.m., ending the barricade.
He was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center and his condition has not been released.
According to prosecutors, the couple had been married for 20 years with two males sons, aged 17 and 18.
An investigation is underway and charges are pending.
