NBC 10 reports the first call police received concerned a shooting at the Hill Gate community on the 600 block of Lindy Lane. Police later determined that the report was a hoax.
The second call came in for a shooting at the 100 block of School Street in Bala Cynwyd's Belmont Hills section. Again, police reported to the scene only to discover that it was yet another prank.
Police are currently searching for the person or persons responsible for the false reports, often referred to as swatting, or pranking police officers with fabricated threats.
