This 5K takes place on Avalon's beach

Spending the unofficial start to summer at the Shore?

You don't need to leave the beach to participate in this Memorial Day weekend race. On Sunday, May 27, the ninth annual Mull-Morial Day 5K will take place on the sand in Avalon, New Jersey.

The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. at 30th Street beach. Participants will run along the water to 58th Street and back. 

Runners can register online for $30, or day-of for $35. The race's charity partner is Friend in Need, a New Jersey-based nonprofit that helps local families stricken by a medical crisis by giving them financial support.
