The next generation of researchers working on breakthrough treatments and cures for rare diseases will be celebrated in March with an event inspired by the NFL Draft. Uplifting Athletes, a Philly-based non-profit that supports rare disease research, will host the Third Annual Young Investigator Draft on Saturday, March 7 at Lincoln Financial Field. Tickets are on sale now.
The unique event is modeled after the NFL draft, but instead of drafting emerging football talent, this draft shines the spotlight on promising young medical researchers. The participants are “drafted” and awarded research grants from Uplifting Athletes that will help them pursue new treatments and potential cures for many of the world’s rarest diseases.
In addition to supporting research that will benefit many future generations, attendees will enjoy plenty of food and drinks, have a chance to bid on sports memorabilia, mingle with pro football players and meet up-and-coming college athletes.
