Electric trams are now offering rides on the A.C. Boardwalk.
Atlantic City tourists are going to have to “Wa-Wa-Watch the Tram Car.”
Five neon green electric trams are now shuttling passengers up and down Atlantic City’s Boardwalk, joining the historic, manually pushed wicker rolling chairs, which have given sore-footed tourists a lift down the boards since the resort’s heyday.

The trams, which are being operated by winning bidder Tim Boland, can seat as many as 15 passengers per vehicle and are currently in operation from 10 a.m. to around 2 a.m., according to The Press of Atlantic City. The cost of a lift is $2 one way, and it is $5 for an all-day pass.
Boland also plans to use one tram as a tour vehicle on Saturday afternoons and evenings in the summer to hold historical tours of Boardwalk sites, The Press of Atlantic City reported.
The rolling chairs will remain in operation, but the number of permits may be decreased.
