Artie Lange takes to Twitter after report of issued warrant for missed court appearance surfaces

Officials have issued a bench warrant for comedian Artie Lange after he missed a court hearing, though Lange says he means "no trouble."

The bench warrant was issued for the Hoboken resident and former Howard Stern sidekick after he failed to appear in court on June 7, the Hudson Reporter reported Wednesday.

Lange, 49, was arrested outside of his home back in March after authorities allegedly found cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia on him and in his car.

"We are not actively looking for him but if any officers have an encounter with him, whether it is by running his license plate or name, they will see he has the 'failure to appear' bench warrant," Lt. Edgardo Cruz of the Hoboken Police Department told the publication. "The warrant is issued by the court and not directly the Police Department."

Lange took to Twitter again late Wednesday night to respond to the warrant, posting that it was the result of "bad communication" and that he's "never tried to avoid this."

The comedian went on a tweetstorm months ago after the arrest to let fans know that he was "doing great."

"To u worried fans pls know I love u," said one post. "Also know I've never wanted to live more! If HBO has to let me go Its my bad!"

Lange appeared on one of HBO's newest series, Judd Apatow's "Crashing," starring comedian Pete Holmes. Holmes denied reports of Lange's dismissal from the show in an April interview with the New York Post

The comedian has been very open about his drug usage in past sets and interviews.

In a February interview with PhillyVoice, Lange said he lives to tell self-deprecating jokes but also touched on his recovery.

“They look at me as a guy who overcame and is doing well," he said.
