Charles McCafferty IV, 22, of Lansdale is charged with animal cruelty and related charges.

Police have arrested a Montgomery County man in connection with the killing of a young pit bull found dead in a metal crate that was wrapped in plastic in Upper Dublin Township earlier this month.

Charles McCafferty IV, 22, of Lansdale, has been charged with cruelty to animals and related charges, CBS Philly reports.

According to police, the female dog, thought to be between the ages of 6 months and 1 year old, appears to have died from suffocation and was dead for at least three days before being found in the area of Welsh Road near Blair Mill Road in the Willow Grove section of Upper Dublin Township, Montgomery County.
